Since my FS2000 has a pinned flash hider, can I legally replace it with a threaded style flash hider {after threading the barrel} or does the new one have to be permanently attached like the original?

Most likely having the flash hider pinned was one of the requirements for getting the gun imported. Even if it wasn't, if you take the flash hider off and make it removable, it would no longer be considered part of the barrel and you would have to be careful that the resulting barrel is at least 16" long and the overall gun is at least 28" w/o the hider.

Its 26inches overall length in TX and the barrel is 17 inches so it shouldnt be that big of a deal I plan to have the same thing done to mine in a few weeks when I get it I will post pics when its done.

The barrel has to be at least 16", and an overall length of 26".

Just wanted to make sure. Your other post you said the barrel was 17" and talked as if you had a lot to play with room wise, and you only have an inch to spare before it's tax time. :)
